Six months of peacekeeping in Kosovo are over and done with for my part. It was a good experience and very much the refreshing change from everyday life that I expected. The final status of Kosovo is still hanging in the air and discussions on the area's future are ongoing. The trip back to Finland through Europe was also an interesting adventure. Pristina - Dubrovnik - Sibenik - Ljubljana - Bratislava - Prague - Berlin - Lund - Helsinki. Good stuff! :)
Currently in Bratislava, Slovakia - far from Kosovo. My peacekeeping mission ended on the 8th of November and I am know on my way back home to Finland. Before leaving I participated in the Athens Marathon and completed the route from the village of Marathon to the Kallimarmaron Stadium in 3h 45min. Good enough as the route was mainly uphill. Now its time to enjoy the freedoms of civilian life!
